I personally like mature, older guys than those that fall into the same age range as me. He can be 9 or 10 years older than me and I could still like the dude. But my guy friend can't understand why girls dig older guys or how guys can date someone much younger than them.
My friend and I always talk about this every time I mention someone older than me and he asks me if the guy is one of my "old man crushes." He likes to tease me a lot and blow up my mistakes in the face. But I guess that's why we're such good friends.

Good morning! As a follower on your blog and as an adult individual (I am atm, 26 years of age hehe) I personally have an opinion of sorts regarding this matter. I remember the four of us chatting about eesanghyun (correct me if i spelt it wrong or something haha its been a while) but the main argument was the age. I truly believe no barrier or boundaries shall presume the age gap between 2 ideal people, it all comes down to show you percieve yourself and how you "act your age". Me for instance, when I was young (like teen-age) I would have chosen someone younger due to the fact I acted way younger than my age-group. and most people would agree on this one but women mature faster than men, so young girl-older guy is the usual norm (for most people i presume)
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, now that I have grown up, I found a special lady, and shes 2 years older than me. ATM I have matured and am taking care of my family regarding family matters and finances so to speak. Me and her started dating last year, and went steady last Nov (my bday-thanksgiving was the official day) and still going strong. But going back to the topic, sorry to sidetrack, It was always the "preference" that links both parties (man-woman) on who to like, whether you will chose younger or older. I believe your "friend" would have understand it more if he had someone he likes that would prove this argument. Otherwise, maybe its just his preference to "like" someone in his age range. Well that's my long, prolly unwanted humble opinion hahaha :)
P.S. what would you guys consider the age range to qualify a guy to be a "old man crush", i mean how far from your age group? It's kinda insteresting hehe
Thank you for your opinion! I believe that age is just a number and it shouldn't matter how big the age gap is. Except I feel weird whenever I hear about a 50 year old man dating/marrying a 20 year old (Ex. Mel Gibson). But it is the norm for an older man to date a younger guy.

Yes I suppose it is his preference to like someone in his age range or maybe he just can't put himself in their position for a while. Or maybe he's just stubborn.
Well, my friends say that I have an old man crush on people like Richard Gere, Tom Cruise, etc since they're in their 50s while I'm 17. But it's not even a crush. It's respect. Lol.
